VoIP / Converged Solutions ::.. Mission :: Certifications

Converged systems save money
, improve communications processes and enable integration with other applications and corporate databases. Convergence is the transmission of data, video, and voice over one network; giving you a powerful and complete communications network.

IP (Internet Protocol) telephony is a general term for the technologies that use the IP’s packet-switched connections to exchange voice, fax, and other forms of information that have traditionally been carried over the dedicated circuit-switched connections of the public switched telephone network (PSTN). When voice is digitized into IP packets it appears as any other media type to the network.

Digitizing an analog voice signal and chopping it up in thousands of small packets of data means it becomes just another data type and virtually anything can be done to the signal. This method of handling voice data is called Voice Over IP (VoIP) and it’s the telephony method of sending voice data over data networks, using IP telephony.

Using a single network to handle both voice and data communication can save time and money by simplifying network administration and eliminating the need to buy and maintain two separate networks. Sending voice calls over the data network can reduce public network long distance charges, a particular advantage in international calling.

Business benefits for IP Telephony and VoIP include:

  • Ease of employing communications applications
  • Increase in personal productivity
  • Convenience and cost benefits of managing one network instead of two
  • Ability to interface telephony with mainstream business processes
  • Intrinsic flexibility of an IP based network
  • Use of standards-based technologies (IP and Ethernet)
  • Significant impact on the bottom line

Convergence and VoIP brings networks together. Network management cost will be lower since there is only one network to administer, and administration can be done from anywhere on the network. As a result, users have access to all three data formats practically anywhere an internet or WAN connection is available.
